Mindfulness in Anesthesia: A Safety and Satisfaction Initiative

Neil Farber, MD has instituted an initiative for Anesthesiologists as well as other physicians to increase mindfulness and decrease mindlessness. His previous studies have pointed out that errors can be reduced or eliminated through mindfulness practice. His findings show improvements in efficiency and safety, better observation of patients responses, reduced burnout and many other applications for the medical field.

In a 2013 article to Anesthesiologists, Dr. Farber specifies how mindfulness can be used as a tool for increased focus.

Is there any field that couldn’t benefit from utilizing mindfulness and its practices?
